This chapter covers musical instruments and their parts and accessories. It ranges from pianos and other keyboard stringed instruments to guitars, violins and harps, from wind instruments to instruments whose sound is produced or amplified electrically, and on to music boxes, street organs, whistles and decoy calls. Bows, sticks and similar items presented with an instrument of heading 92.02 or 92.06 in quantities normal for its use are classified with that instrument, whereas the cards, discs and rolls of heading 92.09 are always treated as separate goods even when shipped together with an instrument.

The first six digits of every code in this chapter are the same in every country that applies the Harmonized System. The chapter has 6 headings and 30 twelve-digit codes (2026 schedule).
The range is always computed WITHIN a single column: showing the EU column and the all-other-countries column as one range would misstate the duty. The binding rate depends on the twelve-digit code and the country of origin.
